Athletic Eligibility and Code of Conduct

Woodbrook students have the privilege of participating in a variety of interscholastic and intramural sports. This code covers all sports. Student athletes are considered to have positions of leadership, and are expected to demonstrate that leadership by following the rules listed below. This code of conduct is designed to ensure that our student athletes reflect positive attitudes and behaviors toward their school, teammates, coaches, families, and themselves.

Rule 1: Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) and have no failing grades or 2.5 GPA and no more than one failing grade.

  1. If a student is declared ineligible at the beginning of the quarter, they are suspended from athletics for a period of 3 weeks. This means they may not play, dress, travel, or even sit on the bench/sidelines during those three weeks. They may practice but only after they have attended Homework Club. After three weeks, another grade check will be made and if the student is eligible, they may rejoin the team. If they are not eligible, they will be rechecked each Monday until they become eligible or the season ends.
  2. If a student is declared ineligible at amid-quarter grade point check, they are suspended from athletics for a minimum of one week until such time as they bring their grades above the standard. This means they may not play, dress, travel, or even sit on the bench/sidelines for a minimum of one week. They may continue to practice but must attend Homework Club first. These students’ grades will be rechecked each Monday until they become eligible or the season ends.
  3. If a students is declared ineligible because of grade checks 3 times during one season, they will be removed from the team.
