Hello Woodbrook Families,

Please remember to vote on the upcoming levy measure. Ballots are being sent out on Friday, January 24th and will be open until February 11th. If you want more information on the Replacement Levy, please go to the following link.

As we welcome in February, we are also looking forward to the second half of the school year. It's amazing that the school year is half over. As I review data and listen to teachers, I notice a couple of things that show a lot about what makes students successful. The beginning of a new semester is a good time to share what we believe are important habits of successful students. We want all of our Woodbrook students to have a successful start to second semester.

The first is attendance. Most students who do extremely well have great attendance. They are here almost every day and they are here on time. Both of these things are important to learning. We certainly understand that students do sometimes get sick and there is the need for some absences, but there is a lot learned every moment we are here.

The second is participation. Students who are performing well in the classroom are actively engaged. I can see it in my visits to classrooms, the comments that teachers make on report cards, and in the overall social and emotional growth we observe in students. I would encourage all families to discuss with your student the importance of being an active participation in class.

The third is the ability and willingness to take on a challenge and stick with it. We want to encourage all of our students to do their best, even when things are challenging - this is how they will accomplish their goals! Our most successful students continue to work hard when things are challenging. We hope you will encourage and inspire this at home as we do the same here at Woodbrook.

A few reminders:

Family Access: View student attendance, grades, and to load lunch account.\

Afterschool Events: Afterschool activities, sports, sports games, and AYPYN are supervised and have an end time. Any student who is not involved or attending one of these events will be asked to call home and get picked-up by a parent/guardian. Any student attending a sporting event needs to be signed up for AYPYN in order to attend or be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Thank you for your continued support!
