Dear Woodbrook Families,

Welcome to November and all the changes it brings! It is hard to believe we have completed the 1st quarter of the school year. One priority at Woodbrook Middle School for this time of year is communicating student progress with families. Communication happens in a variety of ways; phone calls, emails, website updates, and even good old fashioned face to face meetings. Our school district has made communicating student learning a priority by setting aside three days for student lead conferences. Hopefully you received the letter we sent home requesting a day and time you are available to visit the school and learn more about how your student is doing so far this school year. Please contact our main office at 253-583-5460, if you haven’t already scheduled a conference, they will be happy to assist you. As a reminder student led conference days are November 6th ,7th, and 8th. All of your student’s teacher will be available, if you want to schedule an appointment with any additional teachers, please give our main office a call. We look forward to partnering with you in your student’s educational growth.

We want every student to begin to consider the variety of options available to them after they graduate from high school. Encouraging them to be informed and to ask questions as a way to promote college and career readiness. It is vital for our middle school students to begin to consider all the opportunities available to them after high school graduation. One opportunity to begin these conversations will be on Wednesday, November 27th during the school day when we host a college and career day for our students. Various colleges, technical colleges, business professionals, law enforcement, our local fire department, and others will be here providing information about potential careers and educational opportunities. Our goal is to expose students to a variety of opportunities available to them after they graduate from high school. We look forward to supporting students as they begin to explore college and career options.

November and December are a busy times of the year, please mark your calendars for these upcoming Woodbrook events. Our Veterans Day assembly will be held on Friday, November 8th at 10:45 AM and our winter concert and art walk will be on December 11th at 6:00 PM, please consider joining us for these events.

We look forward to seeing you at student led conferences and appreciate you partnering with us to support your student.

With Appreciation,

Rebecca Sprague
